Introduction
Successful dog training requires a solid foundation. This course is one of the most important classes you will ever take with your pup.
This course introduces you to Woofur's Holistic Approach to dog training, where you will learn to build that trusted relationship with your dog so that he/she will respond to your commands, and in turn, you will become more confident with communicating with your dog and understanding its needs.
Successful completion of this course is a prerequisite for enrolling in our Manners & Obedience series of classes.

Woofur's Holistic Approach
The contents of this course are unique as our approach incorporates knowledge across many disciplines (canine behavioural theory, canine body language, positive reinforcement, nutrition, and wellness). As a dog’s behaviour is influenced by its environment, experiences, health, and mindset, our instructor will employ techniques across multiple domains to help address common issues experienced by most dog owners.
The objective of this course is to provide you with the foundational knowledge and techniques so that you can train your dog to become more confident, independent, and well-mannered around new people and other dogs. You will also learn hands-on skills so that you can confidently and safely introduce your dog to new dogs in a public or off-leash environment.
Delivery Model
This course is delivered via a hybrid of virtual learning and in-person modules.
Foundations Module (3 live, virtual classes via Zoom)
- Three (3) classes cover a wide range of topics that require our students' full attention
- Classes are recorded so that you can replay anything you may have missed
Socialization Module (4 in-person classes at Woofur Vaughan, 661 Chrislea Road)
- Four (4) in-person classes covering hands-on techniques
